Front-End Software Engineer (React.js / TypeScript / Django) We are looking for a full-time, remote Front-End Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience in software engineering. The ideal candidate will know how to work with React.js to build single-page web applications and can also maintain and enhance the Django API that runs on the server-side to serve data to the front-end. In this role you will shape the client web application, including the dashboards, data visualizations, and conversational interfaces that empower clinical trial research teams. Also, the front-end software engineer will partner closely with other engineering teams and product management teammates, contribute to front-end architecture, mentor less-experienced engineers, and ship production code that customers depend on. You will have real ownership and the support to keep deepening your craft.

Responsibilities

• Understand, design, implement, and support stories ranging from small fixes to substantial features (roughly 0–21 story points), including the automated tests that prove correctness

• Build and maintain the front-end: responsive, accessible, performant React interfaces written in TypeScript

• Translate product and design requirements into polished, intuitive experiences for dashboards, data visualization, and AI-assisted querying

• Contribute to front-end architecture and design — component structure, state management, design-system patterns — and help validate designs and test plans with the team

• Integrate cleanly with backend REST APIs, handling loading, error, and empty states gracefully

• Recognize and act on opportunities to refactor existing code to improve its readability, maintainability, and quality

• Apply secure-coding practices (input validation, output encoding, XSS prevention) and handle clinical data according to its sensitivity

• Mentor less-experienced engineers and participate in the hiring and interviewing process for new teammates

• Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives

• Help triage and resolve production issues, debugging root causes for customer-reported problems and clearly communicating resolutions to customers and the internal team

• Teach others through educational presentations in team and company venues

• Contribute to internal and external documentation and knowledge base articles

• Participate in blameless postmortems to identify failure points and prevent recurrence

• Required Experience

• Excellent English communication skills

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience using TypeScript and JavaScript

• 2+ years of experience building web applications with React.js, including modern patterns (hooks, component composition, state management)

• Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs

• Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and cross-browser behavior

• Competency with the infrastructure of front-end development: package managers, bundlers/build tooling, GitHub Actions, test frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library), and CI/CD

• Experience with data visualization in the browser (e.g., D3, Plotly, Recharts, or similar)

• Working familiarity with the Python/Django backend — enough to collaborate effectively across the stack

• Familiarity with how AI features surface in a UI: LLM-powered interfaces, streaming responses, and evaluating output correctness

• Experience in the life sciences and its terminology is valued

• Preferred Experience

• BS or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical

• experience)

• Experience in regulated data environments (HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11) or with clinical trial data standards

• Experience building and maintaining a design system or shared component library

• Experience analyzing and solving front-end performance problems (rendering, bundle size, large datasets)

• Experience designing UIs for agentic AI workflows or conversational data tools

• Experience within an agile scrum team and contributing to performance conversations
